Hello, my friends!
I want to thank all of you who came to my Book Launch Workshop. It was incredibly fun, and I received great feedback from the event. I will share some pictures on FB with everyone!
On a personal note, while I am very excited that my book has been published, I have also been feeling overwhelmed with its promotion, which has added a layer of extra responsibility to my existing business responsibilities. Honestly, I have felt confused and a little anxious. I find it funny and a little ironic that I am in this situation. Why? Because I usually find myself coaching people out of similar situations. Now I find myself in need of coaching. Such is life, huh? 🙂
Recently, I began reading a simple yet powerful book called The One Thing by Gary Keller as seen below.
What I am reading is truly mind blowing. Keller speaks about doing LESS and accomplishing more. I know, I know; you have probably heard that before, but what is irrefutable is the countless case studies that he brings to the table. Here is the question that he asks that defines the essence of the book. I will have to paraphrase, but it goes a little something like this:
What is the ONE THING that you can do right now that by so doing will minimize or eliminate the other “pressing” tasks in your life?
This simple question is more profound than it may appear on the surface. Is it not easy in today’s world to get sucked into the whirlwind of life? Once we get sucked into the whirlwind, it is easy to get overwhelmed, frustrated, and confused. Under these conditions, it is easy to take the “shotgun approach” and just start working on something because you don’t know where to start.
A powerful question that we can ask ourselves is this: Are we really focusing/working on the one thing that will propel us further than all the other options available to us?
Too often I find myself looking at all of my to-dos, getting overwhelmed, and then putting my head down aimlessly and charging forward. Is this smart? Of course not.
So, I ask you the same question: What is the ONE thing that you can focus on TODAY that will help you live a life of wellness and purpose? Do you need to focus more on your health? Do you need to mend a broken relationship that is keeping you up at night? Do you need to say “NO” more often so that you can focus on your ONE thing? What is it for you?
I can tell you personally that this question has changed my life, and I hope that it can change yours as well. Please reply and let me know that your “ONE THING” is! I will love reading your comments.
You guys are awesome!
Life is Good!
